Rules & Regulations / Bye-Laws
(नियम एवं उपविधियाँ)
1 Definitions
Unless the context otherwise requires:
- 1.1 “Society” shall mean the Ornamental Heritage Art Society.
- 1.2 “Act” refers to the Societies Registration Act of the respective state.
- 1.3 “General Body” refers to all members of the Society.
- 1.4 “Executive Committee” refers to the elected office bearers of the Society.
- 1.5 “Year” refers to the Financial Year (April 1st to March 31st).
2 Membership
2.1 Categories
- Founder Members
- Life Members
- Ordinary Members
- Patron Members
- Honorary Members
2.2 Eligibility
Any person, organization, or NRI who:
- ✅ Agrees with the objectives of the Society
- ✅ Is valid under Indian Laws
- ✅ Agrees to follow the Society’s rules
2.3 Approval & Termination
Applications are subject to Executive Committee approval. Their decision is final and binding.
Membership may be terminated due to:
- • Voluntary Resignation
- • Continuous violation of rules
- • Harming Society image/goals
- • Expulsion by Executive Committee
3 General Body
3.1 Composition
The General Body consists of all valid members of the Society.
3.2 Powers and Duties
- Election of the Executive Committee
- Approval of annual accounts & reports
- Amendment of rules
- Decision on Society dissolution
3.3 Meetings
- • AGM: Annual General Meeting shall be held at least once a year.
- • EGM: Extraordinary General Meetings can be called as required.

4.2 Tenure: 3 years or until new elections are held.
4.3 Rights and Duties
- Manage daily administration of the Society.
- Supervise projects, museums, and campaigns.
- Approve financial decisions and budgets.
- Appoint staff, consultants, and volunteers.
5 Duties of Office Bearers
President
- • Chief representative
- • Chair all meetings
- • Provide policy direction
Secretary
- • Maintain records/correspondence
- • Prepare meeting notices/minutes
- • Ensure legal compliance
Treasurer
- • Manage income/expenditure
- • Operate bank accounts
- • Conduct annual audits
6 Financial Management
- • Bank accounts in Nationalized/Scheduled banks.
- • Payments via Check/Digital methods only.
- • Income: Membership fees, Donations, Grants, CSR, and Project revenue.
7 Audit
- • Annual audit by an authorized Chartered Accountant (CA).
- • Audit reports to be presented at the AGM.
8 Amendments
Any amendment requires a minimum 2/3 majority in a General Body meeting.
9 Dispute Resolution
The Executive Committee handles disputes. If unresolved, jurisdiction lies with the Competent Court, Udaipur.
10 Dissolution
In case of dissolution:
- All assets shall be transferred to another non-profit organization with similar objectives.
- Process must follow the provisions of the Societies Registration Act.
